With so many free patterns available, a site has to be really special to be worth paying for, and this one is. Leisure Arts is a major publisher of pattern booklets for a range of crafts, and they’ve made their out-of-print titles available for download from their website. Low cost and excellent selection.

Lion Brand Yarn
I ought to be more sophisticated, but I’m not: the Lion Brand site is my fave for knitting projects. Lion wants to sell yarn, so they’ve created an enticing gallery of projects in all colors and skill levels, for knitting, crochet, and “yarn crafts.” Delicious to browse, simple to search, but never efficient: you’ll be lost admiring all the possibilities.
